I own a Rotel RDV -1060 with a faulty DVD Rom unit and these units cant be replaced due to no parts on them but the inside is a very nice open design and I would like to make this a project instead of dumping this unit. Currently it is using Cirrus CS 4396 DAC and OPA2134 as output stage, for my project I will need some help to get a receiver in front of the CS4396 that support COAX in the form of SCLK , LRCK , SDATA .
The other option is to go for a Rasberri Pi that I can build inside with a SATA drive to store music as a server setup and then use some adaptor to support the receiving side of the DAC. Any thought from the DAC gurus
