Bobby Darin was an exceptional singer, got lots of his music.

Bobby Darin - Beyond the Sea
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bRAtV-jgoQ

Bobby Darin - Mack the Knife
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEllHMWkXEU

Bobby Darin - Dream Lover
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVHAQX5sSaU&list=PLm8T8PspIaWS8mgz5-0ioA-gQornWPGGH

Bobby Darin - 18 Yellow Roses
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdIHDFqmHGs

Bobby Darin passed away at the young age of 37 during a heart operation brought on by rheumatic fever, so there are not too many audiophile pressings of his work around. But a great entertainer he was, and I have a far greater respect for him than I do of ol' Blue Eyes.

I used to have a bit of a crush on Connie Francis when I was still a piccanin...

Connie Francis - Everybody's Somebody's Fool
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECOthzFvUXY

Connie Francis - Al Di La
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d3tmpkoTyg

Connie Francis suffered a rape from which she never seem to recover fully, sad loss to the music world.

Other worthy femaile singers include...

Marie Osmond - "Paper Roses"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRM9ObEUDJ8

She was 13 when she released this recording, after breaking away from her brothers (the osmonds) and going solo. A vast improvement, I was never a fan of the Osmonds. Can't think of any other recording she made, but this one was good.

Dusty Springfield was another favourite of mine, including:

Dusty Springfield - I Only Want to Be with You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=osVaF4t-zFc

Dusty Springfield - In private
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1z5DZEse3I

Dusty Springfield ~ You Don't Have To Say You Love Me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IXr5dZ9iAk

And of course with the Pet Shop Boys, which helped resurrect her career:

Petshop Boys & Dusty Springfield - What Have I Done To Deserve This

I need to get away from the PC, there are far too many memories on the tube:

Skeeter Davis ~ The End of The World
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sonLd-32ns4

Marianne Faithfull -- The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0NxhFn0szc

Brenda Lee - Sweet Nothing
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfJ-q0VFe_g

Brenda Lee - Let's Jump The Broomstick
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZRuge14cIU

I also had a crush on Julie Andrews, although she was older than me:
The Lonely Goatherd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaD9Ozdthg8

Last one now - Karen had probably one of the finest ever voices!

The Carpenters - Top Of The World

The Carpenters - Jambalaya

It reminds me of one night in the Scout Hall Disco.

A friend of mine spotted a girl and sauntered up to her to make a “move”.

At which point she said that she was way too old for him.

He calmly replied “well ok then Violet Kuny”

Yoh! Memory Jog! A very good friend/mentor who was also my attorney used to have offices in His Majesty's Building!

There was an eclectic hi-fi/electronics shop on the Joubert St side if memory serves.
