I've been playing a lot of chamber music through the Benz (high output MC) / technics SL1500 ( standard arm) / Geco phonostage / Valve audio Exclame / Goodmans horn combination, and I'm really enjoying the detail and ambience that the setup creates, worlds better than anything I've ever had before. Vinyl seems to work really well with the horn speakers, the air and space around the instruments makes for lovely, in-the-venue listening a la the Lindberg's soirees.
However, I've read a lot of neutral to disparaging reviews about the SL1500, and I was wondering if there were any opinions out there about whether I'm mismatching with the cartridge/arm. Not looking for science or experience this time round, but any input, whether theoretical or practical, on the match between these components' characteristics will be welcomed.
