The DigiOne is a really fantastic little unit.

Small but noticeable improvement vs. the direct USB connection to my Aqua DAC from my Mac Mini (as Roon Core).

BTW the new Rev 1.2 board runs flawlessly; it doesn't seem to have the (over)sensitivity to ground issues of the original board (thanks for helping with this Andre).

Highly recommended.

Hi Andre

How about some pre-sales support?

I am interested in buying a Digione transport for my Pi. My current setup is:
A Raspberry Pi 3 (Model B Essentials Kit Boxed) connected to my LAN via Ethernet cable.
Music is stored on a network server in FLAC format.
The server OS is Daphile and I control everything via Squeezer app on my phone.
The Pi is connected to a Schiit DAC via USB.
Everything works well except for high-resolution files that click and stutter and sometimes stop playing completely.

Questions:
1.   Can I use the existing Pi power supply or must I buy an Allo PSU?
2.   Your installation downloads cover DietPi and Volumio, not Daphile is it simply a case of open the Pi, attach the Digione, reassemble and play?
3.     Is this the correct case to order? https://www.pishop.co.za/store/allo-black-acrylic-case-for-rpi---digione

Thanks, Steve

hey Steve,
I was just going through your email, but I'll answer here, might help others decide as well.

Questions / Answers:

1.   Can I use the existing Pi power supply or must I buy an Allo PSU? >> you can, although our 5V PSU was designed together with the manufacturer to reduce considerably noise/jitter. For the price, its a great little PSU.

2.   Your installation downloads cover DietPi and Volumio, not Daphile is it simply a case of open the Pi, attach the Digione, reassemble and play? >> We recommend to use DietPI and Volumio. These OSs need to be flashed onto the micro SD card, inserted in the RPI , palce Digione on top and power on! As simple as that.

3.     Is this the correct case to order? https://www.pishop.co.za/store/allo-black-acrylic-case-for-rpi---digione  >> yes!

let me know if you have any other questions.

When will the USBridge be available at the pishop? I want to use the pi with a dac, but the dac only has usb input. I also don't want to replace my dac with an onboard dac like the allo boss.

Thanks

So it seems there's a 'signature' model DigiOne now:

Andre what can you tell us about this?
Is it a worthwhile upgrade?

Hi guys,
as mentioned in order posts, things with Pishop.co.za are cold at the moment.
So I have encouraged this community to opt for a group buy.

The Digione Signature is the best SPDIF transport out there.
We recommend you use batteries , or a very good linear PSU to feed the clean side and a regular PSU for the dirty side.

regards,
Andre

best power are batteries.
4 x  18650 LifePo or Li ion 3.2V  / 3.7V
our battery pack will take 4 batteries (2 x 2)

if you buy 8 batteries and a charger, you only have to swap once every few days depending on your listening.

but its the best.

Either than that, maybe an ifi or Sboost or Tomanek
