Hi everyone. I am renovating and need some opinions. Most of my rooms have an awful cement finish that resembles paint dripping/running down. Maybe that was the in thing when the house was built, dunno. Now there are several holes that have been patched up with pollyfilla by the previous owners and I am left with walls that look absolutely terrible. I tried sanding sand one wall with 60 grit with my 150mm Festool but the cement is really hard.. only the top paint layer budges. What are my options now?

I considered refinishing the walls with gypsum plaster which might be a hit or miss exercise as I don't think it will stick to the painted areas. I also considered cladding the walls with 12mm x 150mm saligna planks, but if this looks cheap then it will be a waste of funds.

Any opinions?
