I retired my old Yamaha DSP AX1 to the storage cupboard  around 6 months ago due to the fact that it did not support HDMI. Was using a more ?modern? yammie but found the sound too bright. So I mentally prepared myself this weekend to get the old heavy girl (its back breaking heavy) out the cupboard and get her setup. After a long and difficult placing and connecting I finally sat back and hit the power button.
The sound was terrible! Hard to accurately describe the sound but if I had to try, the best would be, that my speakers sounded like they were drowned in water, Echos and no treble. Tried switching through the effects on the amp, swopped cables around and still no better, with or without effects(pure direct). Any takes on what the problem could be? Anyone in Cape Town that could check it out and repair if need be?
