OSX Snow Leopard DVD
« on: January 12, 2018, 02:19:16 PM »
Where can I find an original Snow Leopard DVD for a Mac Mini 2007?

I've picked-up a 2nd hand mini, it works fine, but I'd prefer a fresh installation of the OSX.

ISOs are available for download. Just burn one.

You will be able to do a internet recovery as well although that will be the latest version of the OS.

Yes.  It can do Lion, but then I need more RAM.

Got 2 SO-DIMM 4Gb here you are welcome to.  Nobody seems to want it.  That is, if its any good to you.  It is DDR3-1600

If the 2007 mini can handle that much ram, I'd be keen to plug it in.

Is there a differnence between a full format and install and a software update?

I'd rather do a proper install as the file system seems to be a real mess.
I'm also struggling to get the wifi connect.  It identifies my wifi, but times-out when I type in the password.

Its better to start from scratch.  Get rid of all the crap.  I do it every 3 years with Mac and Windows (especially Windows).  Its amazing how much better they perform thereafter.

Now I need a DVD.

Nervous about a pirate copy as the last thing I want is any malware or crapware - exactly the reason I want to try a Mac.

The download off the Apple site is the real thing.  Used it many times.  Using Rufus, you can put it on a bootable USB stick and go from there

if you are doing a fresh install and don't need anything off the machine, just do a boot download install
download and install all in one, MUM

I can't seem to find any info on how to do this.
Any clues?
