Sennheiser HD820 officially announced

After months of rumours and speculation Sennheiser today officially announced a stunner of a TOTL closed back headphone, the HD820.

Very unusual design.
Don't think I've ever seen glass on a pair of headphones.
Gorilla glass nogal.

I love it aesthetically as it's closed back whilst still retaining the iconic exposed driver look of the HD800.  I do wonder, however, what it would mean for acoustics.

The glass, unless it's really, really thick, also sits pretty far from the driver so I imagine a lot of the HD800's soundstage will remain?
Never use a graph when a good metaphor will do...

This thing is not too hard to drive either:

103 dB at 1 kHz, 1V

2V gives 109dB SPL, which means an LG V20 can drive them loud enough to cause permanent hearing loss within 30 minutes.
