Looking for a Telkom landline phone.
« on: January 08, 2018, 10:11:20 AM »
Where do I find a decent landline instrument?  My existing one has failed.
The new ones are too lightweight - they fly off the desk when lifting up the receiver!

There my be literally hundreds of thousand of abandoned Telkom phones lying around.
Anyone got some?

I find them at car boot sales and pawnshops
Even duct tape can’t fix stupid… but it can muffle the sound

I have one of these in black:

https://www.amazon.com/GE-Slimline-Phone-Number-Memory/dp/B00009V2WK

You are welcome to have it.

We also have one of these:

https://www.ebay.com/p/siemens-gigaset-al28h-handset-telephone/1167457044?iid=251616047811

https://mkh-electronics.com/product/siemens-gigaset-al28h-dect-handset/

This you can have for R200. It probably needs a new rechargeable battery.

Collection in Midrand preferred - no boxes for either of them.

Thank you for the offer, Trompie, but I'm in CT.

Chris:  On the money with your suggestion to try the flea market of pawnshops.

Thank you.

I didn't realize that there were so many corded phones available.
Just ordered a nice AEG unit from Takalot as I had some credit there.

The Makro ones are real crap.  Like he said, they are so flimsy they fly off the table

There is a Pawnshop in Victoria Road in Southfield, just before Shoprite.  He has some of the beige Telkom Series 100 PBX phones

Prestick or get some lead weights to stick in it
