« on: December 30, 2017, 09:27:53 AM »
Hi folks,
Who uses a VPN to access Netflix USA for extended programming?
Which is the simplest/best/most cost effective and does it work well?
Thanks for some advice,

Using NORDVPN , extremely easy to use can run it through your router or on individual devices , dependant on which server you use you looking at loosing around 30percent of your download speed, so isp package NB , pricing good only  if you take long contracts.

If you're using a pc to access them you can use Opera browser - it has a free VPN built in that can select which country to use.

To save some VPN bandwidth you can login via VPN and once streaming is smooth switch it off and it should still work fine. 4 years ago I bought 50gigs, still got 7 left.

what are you using as the player?
installing vpn on a router can be a bit tricky as you have to flash the firmware. (i think that's the right term - install new software on the router)
also, if you are using something like a roku you will need a usa address.
if you are playing straight off a computer it is quite simple.
is it just me or have bitcoin people gone a bitquiet because its a bitdown? #bitter

Hi, i use Purevpn. You should now that both netflix and hulu now actively block vpn ip adress and domains. I am still able to watch both usa platforms with purevpn. Used vypervpn and others but only purevpn worked.

Expressvpn works too. You need their specific US server to connect.

Which US server from ExpressVPN do you use for Netflix? Their mediastreamer (DNS service) works like a charm for me - but only if I directly connect to the net. I have tried a number of their servers but always get error messages from Netflix. And my ISP is shaping Netflix traffic, so that I cannot get 4k on a direct connection...

Washington DC 2 and some others. Their online help is excellent. Just ask for Netflix...

Also use Express VPN, very good. for US netflix I use the Los Angeles 3 server.
On their website, you can use the live chat feature and they will tell you which server to use to access geo-blocked services

Just an update.....
Decided to go with Smartdnsproxy. The techs have struggled throughout the trial period to get it working, to no avail. After sending numerous screen shots, doing dns leak tests, IP address tests etc etc, the techs have basically given up. On the account page everything checks out, but I get a message "DNS not configured correctly".  :headbanger:
So downloaded Opera, and that seems to be working for now .....
