I was in CPT last week and stayed at a friends house in Camps bay for a short holiday. Winds were outrageous for a couple of days but nothing that Cape Townians aren't used to this time of the year.
Now i dont know if anyone else uses the same system but thought i would share as maybe some in Cape Town or even anywhere else in SA could setup and save on water waste.
They installed a JOJO tank and all water backwashed / rinsed gets diverted to the tank. A flocculant tablet is added to the tank when full to get all the solid debris / unwanted junk to the bottom of the tank. Once that settles the :cr@p: at the bottom is flushed and then the cleaner water is pumped back into the pool.
This way water is not just flushed into the street or Sewer.
