Local guy from Cape Town. I do not know him but just followed the links. Very pleasant to watch his project videos

Quote from: ABOUT
My name is Hanri and I live in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. I like to design and make almost anything to do with audio equipment and more from loudspeakers in various configurations, the electronic components that drive them, to furniture and other random products that might sometimes be non-audio related. My aim is to just enjoy designing and making the things I love, and to inspire others to do the same.

It all started when my 2 nephews and my niece asked me to design and build each of them a bluetooth speaker. I uploaded the projects to YouTube to show them how the builds where made. The response was so good and I enjoyed the process so much that I decided to keep going and make more projects to share with everyone.

As a qualified Industrial Designer, I hope to use my skills and experience to bring you only the best quality projects for your entertainment and to inspire you.

He should be told that high density particle board, being dense (heavy) and inert to sound (does not resonate), makes a better speaker enclosure the pine boards. One needs to use corner fillets to facilitate screwing the boards, as particle board does not have good screw retention properties like wood.

Yeah. I reckon he might know, but he wasn't going for high end. Very enjoyable videos I must say. I even unboxed my unused router...

It's not the size of the sub, it's where you place it.

I also enjoyed watching his speaker build video - he's pretty good!
And my blue masking tape never sticks like that - I must be buying the wrong brand!  :BWAHAHAH:

I love music - analog and digital. Even listening to the Blues makes me happy. During the day I coach and counsel, after hours I indulge in my second passion - listening to vinyl and restoring turntables. Some I keep, some I sell...
