Hypex plate amp
« on: November 28, 2017, 07:33:55 AM »
Good day folk,

I am slowing gathering the necessary for my next build and on my list is 2 off Hypex PSC2.400(d) plate amps to drive 4 off Faital 15PR400 drivers.

Contacted Hypex directly, no agent in SA but can buy direct from there online store. Can also bring in via Jantzen Audio but I wanted to check here first and see if anyone has or is also looking at bring in same / similar.

Let me know
Nicholas

There is a guy on fb group [Extreme DIY speaker building], a dealer, who can supply them at good prices, and help wrt import tax and so on.

Hi Katji,

Thank you for your reply. Some interesting pic of DIY builds on that fb page.

Couldn't quite pin point anyone on the site after searching hypex on the page, have you dealt with this person before?

Xumbug is working together with Hypex for a new DSP for plate amps, he may have contacts too.

I think I saved a screenshot of a post when he replied regarding import tax... some months ago when he was quite active there. No, I never got back to it but I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him. Let me search the files, I suppose I added HYPEX or something to the filename. Actually I'm not even sure it was HYPEX, I'm confused about HYPEX and the other/related one N-something...or the N-something one is something made by HYPEX.

PS: Found him, but the pic/post is about drivers (dunno what I was thinking of then,) but I'm pretty sure he also does the HYPEX/amp stuff - I'll ask him.

...Ncore, that's what I was thinking of. - Same thing.
