Who would have thought?

Not difficult to construct one's self
Even duct tape can’t fix stupid… but it can muffle the sound

Another option is Audiocadabra double headed usb cable (which I use).
Once handshake is done unplug one so just the data lead is connected. If your DAC requires both power and data to be connected, a battery is recommended.
According to 6 Moons it works a treat.
All I know is it's way better than bog standard stuff.

You can get USB A and B plugs at Mantech, with a bit of careful soldering and some shrink-wrap it does not seem too onerous.  However, the double-headed USB cable is just as good and simpler in construction

This USB A socket is under R6,00 from Mantech

I'll get a reasonable quality 3 metre USB2.0 A to B lead and re-work the two A sockets to achieve what is described in the Audiocadabra article and try it out.  The cost is minimal

Mantech also has some nice shielded 2 core coax that will work nice for this.
I use it for DAC's.

Step 1 - get a 3m USB A to B cable
Step 2 - cut off the A plug and open it to determine the wiring colours used
Step 3 - cut off the A plugs on two old/unused USB cables, allowing a 20mm flying lead (one white plug and one black plug)
Step 4 - re-connect the black plug with its flying lead as the original was done, making sure to connect the shield and get the polarity correct, insulate as needed
Step 5 - connect the white plug, but leave out the +ve and -ve leads
Step 6 - tidy it up and apply shrinkwrap to clean up the appearance
Step 7 - see if it works

Step 6.5.  Measure for short circuits.  Twice.

Spoken like a true techie.  A tiny blob of solder, or a whisker of wire, the device won't work
