Advice on replacemet drivers
« on: November 09, 2017, 09:30:29 PM »
Hi. I need some advice on replacement drivers. I need a pair of drivers that will fit a 171mm cut-out.  I have spent the last two years looking, but found nothing that fits. It is not a 6.5" and it is not an 8". I have looked at hundreds of spec sheets but found nothing that fits. Any advice would be dearly appreciated. :nfi:

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Looking at these three examples I see the same. They fit a cutout of 146mm. In need drivers that fit a cutout of 171mm. That would add up to a total OD of about 7" or 7,5". Not so common.

Seems to be a case of the cutout needing to be enlarged to take an 8 inch driver , as Christo and BBE say . Why don't you post a pic of where the driver must go ( part of a 2-way or 3-way ? Mid duty , mid-woofer duty ? ) . Chances are , someone on the forum will have a pair of drivers that will work in your application .

Dayton RS180 https://www.parts-express.com/pedocs/specs/295-375--dayton-audio-rs180p-4-spec-sheet.pdf

Hi Shonver - the driver you posted requires a cut-out of 146mm , arno007 requires a driver that fits a cut-out of 171mm .

146 should be OK, as it is smaller.
