Powering up for the first time

I'm sure a lot has been said about this here before my time on the forum, but I thought I'd post this interesting thread from DIY audio projects. I have a particular interest since i'm soon to start building. When I still worked as a real engineer in digital hardware, 12V was high voltage to us!

How to Power Up DIY Tube Projects for the First Time

I suppose ths could apply to powering up after a repair or mod too.

Perhaps we could distill this and make it a sticky?
