I have a bit of a silly question...

I have a Pioneer PL100 tt which was part of the silver-face Pioneer component system.

The other Pioneer components have all found another home and my clearing out went well, but I want to consider using the PL100 with another Rotel system, as the amp has a pretty good phono stage.

The PL100 power supply socket is of the type that should be looped from the original Pioneer amp's power outlet.

Can I cut the loop socket off and put a normal wall socket plug on the wire and plug straight in ? The PL100 will then be grounded to the ground wire screw on the Rotel amp.

Will this function properly as designed, or does such turntables with looped sockets expect some form of cleaned/conditioned power source fulfilled by the main amp ?
