For years now, I have wanted to find a solution to quickly play music stored on a USB stick via the home network onto my Squeezebox.

A Raspberry Pi may be the answer.

This could also be a great idea when having to use a USB with an iPad or other device without USB ports.
Kind of like a remote USB port.

Would be great if it could work like this:
Plug the USB stick into the pi and the contents of the drive are immediately available on the network.
Navigate to this location with Squeezebox and play the music.
Even better, the file end up in the music folder on the Vortexbox.

Currently, it is a mission:  Turn on a PC and copy the music file to the music folder on my Vortexbox.

Plug and play would be wonderful.

Anyone ever tried this?
