My cousin in Leicester (UK) lives next door to the Dealer Principal for Volvo for the Midlands and he arranged for her to have an electrically powered Volvo to drive around in, for a nominal ?49 a month.  They even fitted a fast charge transformer in her garage

Any rate, last week they phoned her to bring the car in, as it was due a software upgrade which is easier to do at the dealership.  When she got back at 4.30 to collect the car, they told her that something had gone wrong with the upgrade and the car would not start.  Normally, you approach the car with your phone in your pocket which has been paired with the car's communication system, the doors unlock, you get in and press "Forward" or "Reverse" and the car moves off.  This time, not only would the doors not unlock, but after getting in and pressing Forward, a yellow triangle with a "!" appeared, which is "fatal system failure" which is similar to dropping your phone in a bucket of water.

Someone from Sweden will call next week to fathom out what went wrong
