A while ago I purchased a pair of vintage Philips 9710 full range drivers from Mr Kent Kassler. The speakers are in lovely condition, thank you KK! On an open baffle plankie they sounded promising. Very bright but with a lovely open sound and loads of detail. So, I decided I will scrounge the net and find a suitable box to build for them, not wanting to spend a lot of money. I thought a big bass reflex box would help damp the brightness a bit and help with good bass reproduction. I used plain cheap laminated pine. I am not a carpenter, I find it easy to work with pine. Yes, yes, I know it is sacrilegious to use solid wood, but I like to experiment and try things for myself.

The box plan I decided to go for. It was designed for the Philips 9710 drivers. There are quite a few designs available on the net for the Philips drivers. I modified the look a bit.

I liked the look of the Kef's
