Thought I'd start my own thread documenting the restoration of my Doc Viljoen turntable which I acquired last week.

I will probably start dismantling this coming weekend, any advice from those who own or have worked on these? How is the platter held in place? Also mine is missing it's power cable, where exactly should I connect the new one?

Mine came with what appears to be a 12 inch Lenco P77 tonearm, could they have originally been designed to work with this arm? There is very little info about the P77 and even less on the 12 inch version, from what I read over on Lencoheaven the 12 inch version was only made on special order for broadcast purpose. Agaton Sax made a comment on the other thread that maybe this is why the alignment of his Grace arm was out by a few mm..  :nfi:
