I've been exploring the russian signal tubes, and wanted to give them a go in a bigger amplifier, as opposed to the preamps in which they work so well. I did not have 6P3S's, so I used some 6L6GB I had in stock. They work well, with a little lower max plate dissipation compared to their big brother 6L6GC.
I wanted a lower power amplifier, sticking with a pentode class A design that runs on 50mA per tube, 360V on the plates and 270V on the screen. The transformers are 15watt designs.
The preamp tubes are 3 x 6N1P. The results are good. Monster power, even at 15watt! I am still running the amp in, but the sound is appealing and drives compressed music very well.
