Spending more time at the PC "working" lately,
so have been exploring the world of tiny audio systems,
to make the "work" more bearable.

Started with the SMSL SA-36A Pro.
Uses the Texas Instruments TPA3118D2DAP chip for amplification.
What strange new sorcery is this?
Amazing that (decent) sound (or any sound at all) can be made by these diminutive machines.
Not bad at all. Perhaps a little bit rough around the edges. But very listenable.

Then started thinking about possible upgrades (of course).
Decided to go full Tripath with the Amptastic Mini-1 from the UK.
Wow. Incredible clarity, tonally well balanced. Sweet.

The one major upside of these adventures in Miniature Hi-Fi (Lo-Fi?) is that the costs are also more miniature.
And because the speakers are within arms' reach, it's very easy to adjust them for ideal stereo image.

BTW Speakers are 2x Q Acoustics 7000LRi.
(Kind of meant for HT but they're very compact and seem to work well on the desktop regardless.)
