USB wifi adaptor. Got a few, but shipping is a deal killer.

Not sure USB will reach neighbour. PCI WiFi is the right tool.

an externder would be best....put close to neighbour...then kids can use usb wifi dongle.
They are about R400-500

Is this feasible? Can you get an extender (installed in your home) close enough to the neighbour's PC for the neighbour to use a wifi dongle?

If so, could you use an old wifi router (preferably connected to your home router via cable) for this? Maybe you have one laying around?

Perhaps you could also organise a parabolic reflector or so to boost the antenna. If your SO notices the aluminium-foil-covered satellite dish in the lounge window, you could perhaps try to pass it off as room treatment? Just bouncing ideas....use it....don't use it....you know.

I'm actually doing this with my neighbour now....we split the adsl costs.

but yeah if his network is not protected a nice parabolic vase would be fit for purpose lol

Most old Wi-fi routers you could find 2hnd for R100-200 can normally be configured  as a repeater, then the neighbour can just plug a network cable into the repeater/router.
