I have done some googling but my non-engineering brain struggles with these technical matters.
My question is this:
- if hum/buzz is audible both through the speakers and also coming from inside the amp itself, is the source of hum/buzz more likely to be the (toroidal) transformer itself, rather than power line noise or a ground loop?
- 625VA transformer. Amp less than 6 months old.
- CD player connected but not switched on.
- Hum/buzz persists whether the amp is connected via its own power socket or via a multiplug with the rest of the hifi gear.
