...Katji...yes I love to create rooms...but its more that I decide on the interieur side...I even choose the fabrics etc.... ;)

King Julien...THIS IS NOT A SUB......... or if my Bullfrogs are Subs..than they also reproduce fantastic mids and silky high frequencies...
Those are Martion Bullfrogs.... and whoever heard them..... wants them :)

I will not go to deep into details... the idea is that "we" ll get a lot of pics to make a lot of you guys keen to visiting the Loft or 13 Hof to get a different experience...call it a change or whatever...

I do definitiv different "things" and the sound is a different sound than most people are use to....  but talking and writing is one thing - to listen to those things ...a complete different...

Fabrics, yes, I see the curtains. Very nice.  And I can't stop looking at the big settee/couch and the cushions.

What are the mini open baffle speakers with a centre speaker?

A visit to 13 Hof and The Loft in Cape Town is an absolute must for anyone even remotely interested in hi fi .. even for someone who isnt.
In South Africa ,or for that matter anywhere in the world ,there just isnt a similar expereince in audio .
It is clear that Achim went to great lengths to create these two experiences.
The audio creations are of the highest standard possible..at any price point .

I have identified the following " BLUE BULL'S BEST BUYS " :

Lovely Achim
I spied a Hypex disk- industrial espionage? :giggle:
I would love to listen to those "subwoofers"
...and the airy, ribbed standmount speakers with open sub? What's that?

.......... the ribbed open baffle speakers are from a canadian manufacture - EDEN ACOUSTICS.... its a fully active system...ideal for rooms up to 30 sqm.... extremly open and natural sound...

The Hypex driving my Martion Einhorns as the "cheapest" option - The Hypex is a combination of Class D Amplification combined with DSP... its quite surprising how good this performs with the Einhorns

Wonderful to look at Achim and, very inviting. Makes one want to enter and to be there. Pity that you are so far away

one house is enough...... one room is enough (more than a dedicated music room a man doesnt need - well maybe a garage...)

But you no longer have a garage Achim. You converted it into a listening room. Or is that what you were suggesting?

^^ Hehe,Achim, what I mean is I'd have to sell it,to afford some of those lovely components...  :sd:

Quite happy with the 'dedicated music room' thing, but I don't know if someone will let me have one for free then?   :nfi:

Hehe, unless off course you accept IOU's...  :please:  :point:

I just want to hear the Bullfrogs.  Hope to be in CT for a conference in June.

Thanks To Achim for hosting Alleycat and myself yesterday afternoon.
What an amazing experience and we are certainly fortunate to have Achim in Cape Town.
If you have not yet visited 13 Hof and/or The Loft, make a plan and do so.

I must admit, the bullfrogs driven by the Griffen 300 caught me off guard. It looks unobtrusive but sounded absolutely sublime and really is an "every day and every house" system that will make the owner very proud. Fantastic combination.

The Avantgarde horns produces sound of a massive scale. Every audio lover should experience this at least once.

Thanks again Achim for your hospitality.

You can say that again Drifter!!
That Bullfrogs are something to see and to hear!!! And that Griffen, 120kg's of it is just awesome!! Achim convince me after lessening to that horns on the valve/tubes to start looking at valve amps. That sound was just wow!!!
