Ja. My own fault. Was not very clear.  I have a Gyro SE with Michell tonearm. I have only ever used Ortofon vivo's. I am hoping to find something  For rock pop music.  New or secondhand. Budget 🙈🙈🙈. R6-7k.

What did you like and what didn't you like about vivo?

I am running a yamaha ad2000 with mc and mm but have been using my musical fidelity clps v8 on mc. So i only know mc's as that is what i was introduced to. Vivo's always sounded laydback to me imho. But i have a lot of lp's in not so perfect condition so did not want a super expensive cartridge just would never realise its full potential.

I don't know enough about different MC carts but have a Vivo blue on the one Thorens.  It is superb for mellower music (ambient, folk, dub) but I find a decent but much cheaper MM better for rock and punk stuff (using an Ortofon 20 on an AT arm on the AR and a simple Rega Carbon on the RP3).  Really good for rocking out IMHO. Maybe try an MM cart instead?

I think you have a valid point. Having only owned mc's a mm might be a goood call to finf out if my system and ears can really say mc is the obvious choice 😉

AT95E works great on RB250/RB300. New one, the 95SE probably even better. Better stylus profile should net better resolution.

Clearaudio Concept V2 is my favourite rocking magnet at this time. Matches the Rb arm well.

It's a 95 for grown ups.
