New Cirrus Chips

Cirrus Logic (aka Crystal) just released some new chips.

The CS4399 could be interesting. CS4398 was quite popular at one point, esp. with Marantz.
The mobile chip will find some support too, I'm sure.

As far as I understand the two are identical with the exception of the built-in headphone amp. Quite easy to see that this is aimed at the portable market. The CS4398 will likely continue to coexist in the Hi-Fi market. More interesting about the new DAC is the NOS emulation mode which will probably earn it some interest from the portable DAP market.
