Compound Bows
« on: March 15, 2017, 10:45:21 PM »
Or regular for the matter. Anyone know where to get one locally? I could import but local is lekker.
Are there any archery clubs in the Western Cape? Would be nice to try one first.
Perhaps someone knows a local forum with classifieds?
A friend and I are considering shooting things instead of pub beers....
We are rather large so looking at 45-75lbs pull. Takealot has one model for sale, but surely there must be others around?

Any help is appreciated

Give Fulldraw in Wonderboom PTA a call. They were very helpful fixing my son's bow and might have some contacts for you in WC.

Also look maybe at this

I have tried recurve bows, and shoot better with compound. There a loads of shops that do compound, but a handcrafted bow is just sooooo pretty

Welcome in to compound Bow world. Great fun this.

Ok, there is a shop in Brackenfell : http://www.bowtime.co.za/Shop_Memebership.php . They sell stuff and they have bow shooting range indoor. price is really good.

Then you can pop in by Hide-out Archery Shop Cape Town : http://www.hide-out.co.za/

And guns and bows in Bellville but I found they are a bit expensive : http://gunsbows.co.za/

I don't know if these guys also sell bows, but it looks like the kind of store you're after. They are at CapeGate Lifestyle Centre.

Hi Stereoid

Can you find this place from the link? I never know if these things work.  https://www.google.co.za/maps/@-34.0592357,18.4601789,3a,37.5y,72.2h,83.67t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1snOZwJjqWL1YLinuc0mmBmA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1

I drove past there a few times while strings were twanging - looked like fun.

I don't know if they do this there....

Easy! That's the M4 around Retreat. The place should be easy to find during a drive-by. A bit out of the way for me but worth investigating. Thank you Mr. Agent.

Yes, on the Main Road, opposite Zwaanswyk High and nearly at the traffic lights leading to Retreat Road

It can be quite mesmerising, watching arrows fly. Perhaps less so if they are darkening the sky on the way to shading your brave heart, though.
