So the second batch has reached people and according to this post the following changed: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/67bt05/monolith_1060_25_connection/
1) It now uses 2.5mm connectors and not the IEM style MMCX connectors
2) The sharp edges on the grill is fixed
3) It has a better 1.8m cable
4) There is some "dark brown black coating" on the inside of the wood. Hopefully, this addresses the wood cracking issues

So If anyone is interested they still have stock https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=16050

I do believe they have rectified the faults on V2 however i would personally take caution when YouTube reviewers create hype and hysteria and claim the M1060s are the same or better than LC2s. We witnessed the same type of hype and hysteria around the Phillips SHP9500 vs HD600, not a bad sounding headset in my opinion but certainly not the same league of HD600s (i have both in my collection). In the end you get what you pay for, its the total package that counts (build quality, sound quality, spares availability, versatility on cable swopping and warranty). You cannot buy a Bentley for the same price as a TATA  :giggle:
