Very nice, looks like a Rega though, what's the difference and the (prefitted?) Cart?

The cartridge is called a C50.  Its an Audio Technica sourced unit.  Kevin Edwards told me he gets them hand picked for channel balance. 

Yes, some of the parts providence is hard  not to spot. 
The acrylic platter at this price level is quite unique. 

As you move up the range the Edwards identity and design ideas get stronger.

Did a good amount of listening.  Really fun turntable. 
The acrylic as expected helps big time.

It's a far more substantial material then the phenolic and mdf typically seen at this price level. 

It also deals with energy drain from the record being played more effectively. 


The proof is in the pudding / listening which is quite easy to do swapping platters.

Ok, I see. I was just thinking of it relative to alloy platters (which are all I've ever seen.) MDF, I did see it mentioned, seems strange, I suppose it's because of manufacturing costs.
