Hi guys

Your opinions please. My electronics skills are good, but my wood- and metalworking skills suck  :p

What has put me off building a decent valve power amp has however not been that, but rather the lack of sources for components like HT (PSU) transformers and output transformers.  Karel Mars's kits look brilliant and I'd love to build one. I know some people might consider building a kit to be cheating (see if I care!  ;)), but does it make any financial sense to go "full DIY" with the non-kit route, i.e. try to source all components (incl. transfomers) and mounting hardware + chassis yourself?  ???

My aim is to build myself a decent valve power amp at an affordable price. Why? 1) Because I can; 2) Because a valve power amp is a thing of beauty!  8)

Comments please.
