Still no MQA decoding in 1.3 though. Sigh.

won't be long, they've got a code drop from MQA, it just needs a bit of work to fit in Roon's architecture.

If I could make a suggestion to all Roon users that have not yet upgraded...  before you let it loose, disable your current watched folder(s), then let the upgrade install and, go to Settings/ Library / Import Settings, change them to suit your needs and when done, re-enable your watched folders.  As part of the 1.3 update Roon updates your database and does a complete rescan and re-analysis of your music (whilst keeping any edits you've made)...this can take some time if you've a large library, so it pays to set things up the way you like them before going through that rebuild as changes to some of those settings trigger a rescan to take effect.

I expect there'll be regular small updates now adding functionality and addressing the inevitable bugs missed during testing.

Don't know why exactly but this latest update has made a massive improvement in my system. It is just sounding better, almost like I have put a new DAC into the chain.

Anyway,  a highly recommended program, thanks to Johnny and the team that have been working for months on this.

I had to phone Mr. Rotten to ask why it had made such a big difference,  evidently there is a lot of new features, room correction, 64 Bit up-sampling, etc. Need some time to play but I am very happy that I paid for the lifetime option. Money well spent.

Will finally get some time to look into Roon again in the next couple of weeks. What is the recommended OS. I would prefer to run headless unless it makes no sense to do so? Hardware recommendations will also be good.

..Linux as OS.
Which flavor would you recommend? Does Roon recommend a specific version / distro?
I have a Schiit DAC, I guess I'll need to test and make sure it works on Linux.
Winblows it just a pain. Lost some listening time due to updates and reboots. Now days listening time is so little. I was not impressed.
