Wondering whether this is just a lunatic brain fart or of some merit.

I saw 750ml empty wine bottles stacked in wine racks at various steak houses etc. When the bottles are stacked within a +/- 600mm x 600mm box on their sides against one another with their necks facing outwards, they resemble the diffusers in an enechoic chamber. Would they not be able to function as diffusers, or bass traps, or absorbers?

They can be placed/stacked all the way from the floor to the ceiling if you want on the rear and/or front wall in a rectangular room. If you want a bass trap you place Uthermo between them and the wall. By filling them with various amounts of water you may be able to tune their effect etc.

Anybody ever tried this? It sure looks good and classy where used as decor in the steak houses.

One may even have fun draining the bottles for use !!
