I have designed a Single Ended kit for the EL84 tube based on the famous Mullard 3-3. See http://www.r-type.org/articles/art-003h.htm for historical record.
As you can see, it is an EF86 driving an EL84:
It is quite interesting, in the sense that the EF86 anode is directly connected to the EL84 grid, and the EF86 screen grid is biased by the EL84 cathode voltage!
