Visited Moyo near Big Bay/Blouberg.  African theme, which is what our overseas visitors wanted.  Close to the sea and as a gimmick, you can sit outside at tables and put your feet in water, with surfboards all around.  Selection of food not too bad, prices about 15% above average

Ordered kingklip, lamb curry, rump steak and calamari.  Asked for water for table.  After 25 mins, and no water, waiter brings ribs and chips and is surprised he has got it wrong.  Then lamb curry appears, in a potjie.  Open up the potjie, expecting to see lamb in sauce, but it is just potatoes in curry sauce, they have run out of lamb.  Then kingklip arrives.  Looks like it has come out of the freezer, into a microwave and is hard like a piece of wood.  That goes back.  Then manager arrives, is everything ok he says.  Now 45 mins since we ordered and he says "unacceptable", words of contrition, etc.  No improvement.  All the time the staff are shouting and laughing, banging on drums (to give it an authentic African feel I suppose).  So loud you have to shout to be heard. Now 75 mins since we arrived.  At last comes calamari, nicely cooked but with rice whereas visitor ordered a baked potato, no sauce either.  Tasted very good.  Now close to 2 hours after we arrived, but no sign of the other 3 meals.  No water either, no bread or butter.  Call manager.  What is problem he says.  Explain we are waiting for food, we arrived at 7.45 and it is now 10.00.  But you have had the food he says.  So we call waiter and he now says we sent everything back.  After an argument, waiter arrives with a bill for R1830 for 4 courses, 2 bottles of wine and 3 bottles of water.  We refuse to pay, since there was only one bottle of wine, on the wine list for R135 whereas bill states R 205.  Calamari is now R190, whereas on the menu it is R165

Manager nowhere to be seen now.  We leave, leaving R200 on the table, much shouting from waiter, will call police he says.
