@BWS: I agree, we are now formally competing with the Aussies for that longest losing streak.

Sad but true, coming Saturday is going to be CARNAGE

Perhaps it's time to start supporting the All Blacks ... at least you're just about guaranteed great results every match. Face it, Springbok rugby is no longer about winning.

Being patriotic and supporting your fellow countrymen on the field shouldn't really only be about winning either ;) They do not go out there to lose that is for sure.

agreed, but patriotism has its place when the best players and coach are assembled to compete, not when other agendas dominate selection.

It was said, there is a better chance of the Springboks winning than Zuma paying back the money...

Maybe now we will be ok!

Honestly. .....I do not have a problem with any of the players. ....Consider the pool available right now. Maybe some are there on track record and not the inform choice,  But I do not believe anyone playing for the boys will not give his 110%

However, looking at the kindergarden that SARU picked as the couch and supporting couches.....it has to be the joke of the century.
Anyone looked at this team that must help AC.....we need more than lots of prayer

^ It is a second-tier team ill equipped to face by far the most devastating rugby team in world rugby. I appreciate the fact that the pool is somewhat depleted, but to continue selecting an out of form Francois Louw ahead of Jaco Kriel, to retain an out-of-form centre pairing (in hindsight the selection of De Allende in combination with the starting pair makes a bit more sense than what I originally gave credit for), to keep forcing Elton Jantjies to play what seems to be an unfamiliar, vague style of rugby with inside centres that he simply cannot connect with, to have veterans of the stature of Morne Steyn, Tendai Mtawarira, even Francois Hougaard (although he did impress last week) and now Willem Alberts (who would be in off-season mode) making up numbers should be extremely alarming if you consider the quality of the opposition. The only positive that I see in the composition of this team lies in the tight 5 and their bench back-up. I would thus assume an old-fashioned style of playing back to our strengths, pick and drive, box kicks, that sort of thing...which would explain the selection of Alberts.

PlanetRugby's prediction:

Quote
Prediction: While the Springboks may be competitive in patches, they don't have the players, game plan or execution to beat this All Black side. It should be a one sided affair for the most part with New Zealand set to clinch the Rugby Championship title with a bonus-point victory. All Blacks by 20-30.

"All Blacks by 20-30"

We are at their mercy. I think they will determine the winning margin...

We are in a bit of a slump, while the ABs are at a peak. It will take a few seasons to fix. Best we can do to avoid premature aging is to chill and wait it out. Even if we had the best* all-white** team, we would still be mediocre.

*If you think there are better, more deserving players
**If you think quotas are forcing undeserving players into the team

It's not the quota's, it's the lack of game-plan and unwillingness to depart from ou-karton tactics that worked 10 years ago

You are probably right. I mean I can agree with that. But even that will take some seasons to work out/through.
