A bloke wearing a fluorescent bib rang the intercom at my front gate this morning. He had a copy of the phone book, Yellow Pages and a clip board with him.
Said to just fill in your ID, name and phone number and that he required a business card, at which point I said no thanks.
So I never got the books but will pick them up at my local Post Office if and when I need them.
The bloke also told me I am now 'responsible' for him losing R200 for not accepting his books.
I saw them drive away in a smart Toyota RAV4, loaded to the gills with phone books.
Has this happened in your locality?
It looks to me like our ID's and particulars have become fair game to be used and abused by all and sundry.
