If you have the equipment to enjoy it and your aesthetic sensibility is not afflicted with the miasma of Dire Straits and Norah Jones, the bar for multi channel lossless sound has just been posted at new heights by BIS over at eclassical.com.

The much awaited final disc in the Vanska - Minnesota Sibelius symphony cycle was released this week. The second disc won a grammy (more or less meaningless in my view considering the self congratulatory nature of these awards) and this recording is better.

The performances are sensitive and moving to the point of being mesmerising.

If you don't know Sibelius, Symphony 3 is the most accessible perhaps also 2 and 5. If you do ....
