Anyone need anything imported?
« on: July 21, 2016, 12:46:29 PM »
I can assist with the importation of items from a wide range of international locations.

Exclusive use of insured courier services so packages arrive faster and more reliably than normal post delivery and much cheaper than standard online store courier rates.

To your door anywhere in South Africa.

Payment can be done via EFT or credit card through PayPal. Up to $650 purchase price available via EFT or $10 000 via PayPal.

Please contact for a quote on anything you may be interested in. Quotation includes purchase price, shipping and duties/VAT, only one payment required.

Want something unavailable in South Africa but:
•   Seller won't ship to SA?
•   Worried about the unreliability of standard post?
•   Concerned about the complexities of international shopping and shipping?
•   Don't have a credit card?

Pop me a PM!

ORIGINAL POST:
I've got some USD sitting in an overseas credit card that I need to get back to SA, will get eaten alive by the charges.

So does anyone need anything imported in? I'll handle delivery(I exclusively use couriers so no SAPO thieving fingers) and customs.

I can do pretty much anything but is air freighted so high weight low value items get expensive(eg: drivers). Valves on the other hand...

Pop me a PM and I'll quote.

Out of interest, how do you work out duties and landed price?

http://elac.com/product-category/sources/elac-discovery-music-server/

This thing is $999.00 -I guess a landed price would be close to R20,000?

Easy gents, "some" is the operative word. $1000 is way out my wheelhouse...

Duties and VAT are fairly easily calculated.

Evening all

Although my inbox kinda exploded...

Seems some may have gotten the wrong idea and are viewing this as a cheap cheap opportunity to get stuff in, I wish it was. Sadly it's air-freighted in and is still going through customs, my delivery avenue is cheaper than the usual but is still bound by the laws of economics and physics.

This is more for the person who needs/wants something they won't entrust to SAPO(I certainly don't) and whose seller is charging $99 for a courier or simply won't deliver to SA, or someone who isn't comfortable dealing with international buying and shipping.

That's why I is here! Through "contacts" I can get packages in via courier from pretty much anywhere.

Speaker surrounds, foil caps, amp power caps, NP caps, air core coils(up to a point, they get heavy), class-D desktop amps, DSP's, valves, turntable motor etc etc. Just an example of what I've brought in and it worked kinda well.

I paid R 356 for D & V on an amount of R 628 for two 1" tweeters from USA.

That's a tad ridiculous but I won't get into my feelings towards SARS and their import duties, the forum censor would explode... Did you know for example that when you import into Singapore there are only 4 things which attract an import duty, 4.

Anyway, bulk of the USD is still available so pop me a PM!

If everything you import is computer-related, there is no duty or ad-valorem, only VAT plus a clearance charge.  I have a SONY computer, a LINN computer, a PSB computer...

You must give an idea of how much you have in that account. We already know it's less than $1000 which itself isnt money. Are we talking $500 or $100? This could get tedious working through the figures if you dont just tell us.
Dare i ask why you dont just close the account and repatriate the money?

Not comfortable posting a number in the open and it's constantly changing. It may not be "money" to you but it certainly is to me... PM me if you're interested in something and I'll let you know.

There seems to be quite the demand for this so I'll open it up, if you have a credit card or PayPal funds you can send them to my PayPal account and we can work payment through that as well. I'll sort the rest.

There's a little USD left from the last batch for anyone who wants to pay via Rand transfer, will post again when more USD turns up.

I had a few requests for cables, those are definitely another option to bring in, if you swing that way of course...

Mods I dunno what you want to do with this thread.
