I need help to drown out some noise so-to-speak :groovy:

I'm currently in the market for some noise cancelling headphones and with a trip planned in 3 weeks time, so this is the perfect time to upgrade.

I have a Sennheiser PXC250 that did service for about 7 years.
I got some prices and it is between the following few at the moment:
Audio-technica ATH-ANC9 (a bit over my budget)
PSB M4U2 (from reviews they seem a bit heavy (not sure if this will be an issue) and they sometimes have cable issues but I'm not too worried.)
AKG N60 NC (I know this one is on-ear, but reviews seems good)

The ANC9 is stretching the budget a bit and from the reviews they scored lower than the other 2.
I very much prefer over ear and a bit worried that the on-ear will hurt after few hours. My old set starts to hurt my ears after about 3 hours of use and noise cancellation is not great.

From some reviews it seems like the noise cancellation of the PSB is only mediocre - does anyone know how they compare to the ATH-ANC9s?

What other options can I also look at?
