The way it was before the guts became a PTP.

Anyone interested in Lenco project?

Top plate ready sprayed.  Ply plinth done.   The guts became a PTP but I have 2 sets of guts and a spindle extension to run stacked platters.

Will only delve in to the store on the weekend to check all these.

Arm hole changed to take a Linn arm and the plinth  also has a slot for an SME.

This is what the spindle extension looks like.

A similar set up running a stacked platter.

Bargain for the turntable connoisseur with fair budget.

Price reduced, taking a bath on this one it its got to go.

Thorens TD800 turntable with TP300 tone arm (a Rega RB300 in an adjustable VTA collar).

This particular model was priced at 1800 euros.  That's a cool 30k today.used samples seem to fetch 900 euro's.

This is a rare chance to own a new deck way above the performance norm at this price.

Price is R10 000 and will include an Audio Technica AT95 E cartridge.

This turntable is new in that it has never played. It's box was robbed for some  parts by a previous distributor and maybe some just got misplaced and it ended up forgotten in a corner.  The bearing housing is still sealed, platter never fitted, the transit tape still on the arm and no cartridge ever fitted.
I imported brand new belts and a new (improved) Thorens speed controller for it and built a superior power supply.

The chassis is made of 19-mm thick high-density wood. Standing on three polymer-damped adjustable feet that are also height adjustable, the chassis is decoupled and isolated from the mounting surface. The Thorens silent run bearing is made of two sinter bushes with a polished stainless steel axle running inside. The tungsten ball at the end is running on a self-lubricating and absolutely maintenance-free bearing point. The low-noise AC motor is supplied from an electronic motor drive unit. The output signal is generated completely independent from the mains power. With this you get much better wow/flutter and virtually no distortion from the mains power source.

Comes with Thorens TP 300 tonearm.

Specifications:

Drive System: Thorens belt drive
Motor: Fully electronically regulated AC-Synchronous motor
Speed: 33, 45 RPM
Speed Select: electronically
Platter: 300 mm/3 kg non-magnetic
Tonearm: Thorens TP 300
Antiskating: magnetic
Switch-off: none
Capacity of signal leads: 120 pF
Power Supply: electronically-regulated power supply for AC motor
Dimensions (WxDxH): 420 x 330 x 110 mm
Weight: 8 kg
Colors: aluminum

I still love the Cold Ray products but at current prices they have just become prohibitive. So I am clearing them out!!!

Bargain for high end folk on a tight budget (aren't we all right now??)

There are two types (Ceramic and Steel) and colours are black or silver.

Current prices should be:
Set of 3 Steel R2750 CLEAR OUT PRICE BELOW COST R1200
Set of 4 Steel R3450  CLEAR OUT PRICE BELOW COST R1450

Set of 3 Ceramic R3790 CLEAR OUT PRICE BELOW COST R1600
Set of 4 Ceramic R4690 CLEAR OUT PRICE BELOW COST R2000

The idea behind Cold Ray is quite different from most other decoupling devices, because it is not in fact a decoupling device, but rather a resonator absorbing "ringing" that otherwise clutters up and interferes with the TRUE sound of your Hi-Fi components, compact, easy to use, and elegant.

The idea of creating such a device came from research and development of a decoupling mechanism. It became apparent that the focus needed to be not just on sound improvement in certain areas, but the impact on overall performance. With the assistance from the University of Aalborg, the Cold Ray design was created.

Cold Ray consists of three separate parts: a base cone, a bearing ball (which comes in either steel or ceramic), and a steel cover bell. The cover bell together with the bearing ball, serve as the resonators, greatly limiting the amount of resonance that can pass through Cold Ray.

One of the most important elements of the Cold Ray design is mechanical stability. Decoupling devices prove to be rather unstable as their weight exposure increases. Cold Ray works in a different way, becoming increasing more stable when bearing a greater weight load. Vertical stability plays an essential role in the performance of this product.

Next up.

Moth Branded RB202 arm, made by Rega.
This is the evolution of the legend that is the RB250.

Current list price in SA for this model arm from several sources is R6000

I have a few more than I reasonably need in stock right now.  R3950 each.  Limited stock obviously.

Morning Sir, I will take the remaining cold ray items. I will contact you later to arrange to collect.
If you don't understand your own perceptions you cannot really make any sensible judgements.....or should I say you would not really fathom the conclusions you come to.

Ok.  Here is one just for you:

Cardas Lightning 15 digital 1m RCA co ax digital cable.  Cardas best and reference  digital cable only recently surpassed by Clear at a higher price.

USD380.00 plus import vat and another 15% import duty on electric cables takes it over R7000

Brand new sealed below cost R3000.00

Parsec costs that now.
