I do it slightly different to the prescribed method.
I sand down to 180 (machine or hand) and apply the Monocoat.
After it is dry(next day) I sand it again lightly with 220 and then apply their maintenance oil. It gives it a little bit more of a sheen that I like.
You can buy it in 10ml samples as well to play around with, but as mentioned phone Yamkela, very approachable and knowledgeable guy.
