I can already hear the moans and groans from the guys who have started to invest in home theatres. New televisions? So soon? I just got my home theatre set up!!! 3DTV is coming and it is coming soon. There are some massive advances in active 3D for the home that are being made as we speak with integration into future products in advanced phases of planning. 3D capability has already been built into the latest HDMI cable standard and now the televisions are coming with Sony blazing the trail at the moment. Major content deals are being negotiated with more and more 3D movies coming to the big screen, that will definitely find their way onto your small screen if only you could replicate the 3D enjoyment factor properly at home.
They want to build 3D capability into anything and everything that can handle an image. The PS3 for instance will see 3D functionality brought to it and Sony?s televisions will sport 3d functionality in a major way! The kickoff for showcasing 3D television will be in early 2010 and I suggest you start reading up all you can about the technologies and where they plan to go. If this effort by Sony and company is successful, it can push the way we enjoy visual entertainment as a norm into a totally different league. I have taken the liberty of providing you with some decent links to good sources on 3D television and what is coming. Philips and other manufacturers are on the ball too and it will be interesting to see who comes up with the winning formula. Perhaps, as was the case in the battle between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, the porn industry will once more have to pick the winner?
