To some extend this could related to Skinny's topic about MP3's.
I realize that radio stations performs various methods of compression on their transmissions, which in general should have a similiar effect as converting a CD track to MP3 format, but I have heard a few songs on the radio which sounded okish and then heard the originals on CD which sounded crap - what I am saying is that the radio broadcast sounded much better than the CD.
Two "artists" I am thinking of are Lilly Allen and Gnarls Barkley. On radio their songs don't sound too bad, but on CD its recorded at too high levels and sounds distorted even at very low levels.
And no Skinny I did not buy the two CDs, a friend did and were complaining about his setup sounding really bad ;D
