That shop in Waterstone was also awesome!  Ben and Colin always there for a friendly chat or advice on new gear or upgrades  :groovy:

Think I may have visited the Somerset West store when at a conference.  One of my first realisations that hifi was available in SA!

Whilst busy packing and getting rid of stuff I came across this bottle. If my memory serves me well, I think it could have been one of these that Ben referred to in his recollection of our listening session at my home. 1 of a lot I bought from a friend and through the years shared on special occasions. From all the bottles I bought in early 90's about 25% i had to chuck away... the others were superb. Nice memory Ben  :dop:

Yip.....I saw a few of those.....74.....76 was exceptional years for red in SA

There were two guys in the store, Colin and Mark. They did a great job in my absence,  spending my time away between Import company and stores in Gauteng

This should bring back memories for you guys....

I now this is a old topic, but had great memories of this place BJ. This is the shop that i was walking about in one of the post where B&W speakers and this system with amps that trip the power because of all the power it pulls. Will never forget that. Lord Of the Rings in that mountain part attack. Blown away that day!!!

Nice to see shop/brand name still going.  ;)

Home of Clearaudio,  Emm Labs & Meitner, Franco Serblin, Magnepan, Plinius, Shunyata & Straight Wire.
We have been importing and distributing some fine Audio over the past 22 years into the South African market.
Through our Retail Arm, Audio Counsel, have met many forum members, and made lots of friends over the years.

Our aim has always been to share our knowledge and passion with every customer that crossed our ways. I trust that this Forum will be just another platform to grow such a friendship.

I would like to take this opertunity to thank everyone who has  supported us over the years, and look forward to meet more of you over time.

Regards

So, not a subtle reference to double-D...? Disappointing... :coffee:
