I echo Spurge's comments, any thoughts, reviews on the 38 yet?
will not be able to set mine up for a couple of weeks and itching to hear from those using it.
many have received it.
good? great? not so good?
teething issues? practical issues?

I think the only one who left comments about the sound is Juggy so far.....
Otherwise so far I heard or read - yes the unit gets very hot.....maybe not as hot as my Gryphon Amps but hot....well...is it bad..is it good?

Spurge, George and Mervin....I also miss reports about HOW DOES THE MCH 38K sound and perform ?
I hope you guys set up the amp soon... I miss to read about the S O U N D ....

I still need to put my notes together for the time spent with the DAC-9 and STA9 power amps.

Will post shortly

Achim is the MCH 38K much the same design as the IDA 8/ST-9 with Class A input to Class D output ?

The ST-9's also got pretty hot too the touch but my pea brain put this down to the Class A section and small form factor.

Was good to be home for a bit hey Mervin? Lets hope you come home for a longer while next time, as I would love to hear the NuPrimes on the Vivids

.....I think the general design of MCH is related to ST 10 ...but soundwise I got told it goes more into the direction of Ref 18 (which I have a s well).
If thats the case...the MCH 38K must be an extremely good sounding amp. Sadly we sold some units to people who arent forum members - mainly people who had super complex and complicate HT Systems (far far more expensive) - and they - without exceptions are very happy about a huge improvement in sound - and the simplicity of the combination AVP & MCH 38. The units "outside" the Forum got all sold with AVP - so the match should be perfect.

Heat? Is definitiv not "my" problem or something I would see as a problem..... having these massive Class A Valves by Unison or Gryphon Class A - Heat doesn't scare me. I get more "nervous" when a unit stays "cold".... but I m conditioned like an old dog.... ;)

Still in California and then on to Mauritius. So as much as I would like to use and report on the MCH-K38 I cannot.

How about asking the "0ff-Forum" purchasers to join the forum?

I am busy with my feedback on my (very happy) DAC-9 and 2xSTA-9.  Same problem here.  Out the country back in May for a weekend.

Hi Achim, any chance of a "ballpark" price on the DAC10? Pm me or list in thread, sorry I missed it if it is somewhere in the thread.

@achim

Many home breweries here too. Golden Spike Heffenweizer a firm favourite. Or the Polygamy Ale.

Im interested in the IDA8 or IDA16. I like the idea that its a all in one system. I can either go and get a decent used pre and power amp for the price of an IDA16.

My question how much better is the IDA16 than the IDA8. Im thinking of doing away with my audio lab CD player, freeing space and just have one unit running my esoterics playing from my Macbook.

I have not listened to Class D amps before. Currently I am using my brothers Cambridge 851a that I am very impressed with. It sounds great for what it is.
