So I'm pretty amped to start putting the stuff together I need for my Lenco rebuild. One of the main things will of course be the plinth, this being an idler drive design and mass playing a role.
So..... Timber. What kind? I know MDF is not cool, unless maybe you sandwich it with other wood and keep it as little as possible. I'd rather just stay away. But what do i use for the bulking layers? I've got a coupla things in mind for the exteriors planking, but no idea what to source locally with the correct resonance & damping factors for decent plinth properties.
