AS this open topic, I just wanted to get your guys opinions on ECU remapping.

I bought an 18 month old Volvo C30 T5 R Design last month with 169KW/320nm torque. I have been offered ECU remapping from one of the largest international Volvo tuners (http://www.elevatecars.com/)  at a very good price, taking it to 190KW/410nm torque.

Volvo unofficially say the remapping will have no issues, however it would void the warranty if found. This has put me in two minds ababout doing it. I've checked with a few enthusiasts and they say they car can take the extra power without touching anything else, as it's only 13% increase. The torque, on the other hand, jumps 30% over standard and *may* be an issue with clutch etc. The car does have an upgraded intercooler as well, which should provide extra cooling for the extra heat generated.

a) Would you reckon it's 'safe'?
b) And my main question, why wouldn't Volvo do this at the factory if was so good?
