Hi guys,

Thought i would just let you know (in case anyone is looking to buy a 3g ipad)

It works fine here in SA (on vodacom at least, I have not tried other networks). All you need to do is get a data sim card from one of the local providers and cut it to the size of the ATT cardthat comes with the Ipad. As the chip is a slightly different size, be careful to cut the side of the chip that is not used by your current phone (you can tell the unused side by the wear markings on the sim card). Once you cut the card and insert it into the ipad you are ready to go. you will need to change the "APN" name to "internet" and leave the username and password blank.
If you are worried about cutting the sim, all three providers have said they are importing micro sim's specifically for the ipad users (ie grey importers) even thoguh there is no planned launch of the ipad locally.

The unit works well and the 3G speed looks pretty impressive.

cheers
Mike
